JETSTREAM

I'm delighted with the way this one has turned out. I wanted to make something of a more abstract nature than most of my work, something that I have never found easy. Most importantly, it had to feel good in the hand. The carving is specifically designed to allow the thumb to nestle comfortably in the concave shape on the underneath, which can be seen in the right hand photo.

The design on the front harkens back to my jewellery days when I used to make rings and pendants in the American Indian style.

Made from Mammoth tusk and turquoise, it has been given a deep, lustrous black stain. The signature is engraved beside the himotoshi.
