KNIFE HANDLE
This commission presented me with a problem I hadn't envisaged. Jerry Fisk, a renouned knifemaker, asked me to make a handle for this Damascus steel blade and supplied me with the material, telling me it was part of a broken Innouit club made from fossil walrus. I was therefore unwilling to hollow it out as I had originally planned. I was also asked to gild the ants and spiders, which I don't think I would have done. The hole in the handle was made by its original owner. Overall I am pleased with the result, the piece selling immediately. Overall length about 15 inches (38cm)
