OWL
This is the latest incarnation of a carving which has been quite successful. I recently came across the original and was struck by its sinister quality, something I have tried to re-capture here; the way the owl leans forward, his head partially covered by his wing, and the deepness of his eyes give him a quality of mystery I like.

Unfortunately I have not yet managed to find a digital camera with the abilities I need at the right price so the scanned photos in no way do this owl justice. Made from Alaskan coral he is approximately 3" (8cm) high and is signed on a 22ct gold plate at the back.
