PETAL
I have carved here a single petal to represent my fond memories of close friends who died last year and especially of my step-father. He worked in films all his life, mostly in LA, so neither my brothers nor I knew him well at all yet his great charisma and charm made him special to us.

I wanted to make something simple with elegant, flowing lines, something of beauty yet poignant, like a fond farewell.

It is carved from Hippo tooth with a very gentle orange-pink stain and a relief carved signature. The two drops of dew are blue moonstones.
